PUBLIC NOTICE
Until further notice, children ages 14
and under are not permitted to visit patients at St. John’s
Hospitals, Ozarks Community Hospital and CoxHealth. This age group
currently represents more than half of the H1N1 cases in Greene
County, and the situation is similar in other area counties.
Children easily and rapidly transmit the virus. Restricting their
access helps safeguard patients, employees, guests and the children
themselves.
We
understand there may be instances where this policy is an undue
burden on families and those instances will be handled on an
individual basis.
Thank you for respecting our request to protect our vulnerable
patients so we may quickly assist their return to good health.
H1N1 Vaccine
Availability
Each week, St. John's Health System
receives allotments of H1N1 vaccines from Springfield-Greene County
Health Department and surrounding health departments to distribute to
co-workers and patients. Neither the health departments or St. John's
knows when each weekly supply when arrive or how many doses will be in
each supply.
