¢ Visitors and patients can still enter Cherokee Street from National or Fremont avenues, but Cherokee will serve the hospital and won’t be a through-street anymore.

¢ A 50-person patient tower occupancy team had monthly planning meetings since February 2007 and switched to weekly meetings in October 2007.

¢ A day before each nursing unit moved, all departments were involved as mock patients were processed through the computer systems and sent to the lab and X-ray departments and discharged to simulate a typical patient experience.

¢ Some of the Italian marble, limestone art and statues from the original hospital were incorporated into the new Patient Tower. Items are located in the lobbies, courtyards and conference center.
