child passenger safety leader chairs national board

Springfield child passenger safety instructor has been elected to serve as Chair
of the National Child Passenger Safety Board.
Pam Holt, Trauma Prevention
Education Coordinator for St. John's Hospital in Springfield, MO will lead the
Board through 2007. Pam is also the Vice Chair of the
Missouri Injury and Violence Prevention Advisory Council and Chair of the
Springfield Safe Kids Coalition. She is well established as an educator
and resource for injury prevention on a local, state and national level. Pam has
developed many educational programs which are designed to teach about preventing
injury to diverse populations.
Pam is very active in the
legislative process in improving Missouri’s passenger restraint laws. She
has developed the National Task Force for Child Passenger Safety in Healthcare
and takes an active role in assisting health care providers in establishing
national child passenger safety programs. Pam shares her expertise
nationally by presenting at national conferences
The National Child Passenger
Safety Board was established to advise the training and certification of child
passenger safety technicians, who help parents and caregivers learn how to use
their child safety seats. The Board works with the National Highway Traffic
Safety Administration and Safe Kids Worldwide to provide insight from a diverse
base of communities and organizations into the teaching and certification of
child passenger safety technicians. More information about the National Child

Tens of thousands of people
have been certified as Child Passenger Safety Technicians (CPST) since 1997.
This week, many technicians will participate in education events for parents and
child safety seat inspection clinics, in observance of Child Passenger Safety
