Callaway ultrasound accredited
The
Ultrasound Practice Council of the American Institute of Ultrasound in
Medicine (AIUM) has granted St. John’s Clinic-Smith Glynn Callaway
Ultrasound accreditation in obstetrical ultrasound.
The department achieved accreditation in recognition that the practice has
met voluntary standards set by the diagnostic ultrasound profession.
The entire practice was reviewed, including the practice’s personnel,
physical facilities, documentation, storage and record-keeping practices;
policies and procedures, quality assurance methods and how the practice
meets AIUM standards.
The obstetrical ultrasound practice at Smith Glynn Callaway operates as an
extension of St. John’s Clinic-Maternal-Fetal Medicine, under the medical
direction of Rick Fraser, M.D., and Betty Garton, RT, practice manager.
“An accredited status demonstrates clinical excellence and a commitment to
the highest quality of patient care. Accreditation of the ultrasound
practice confirms credibility to patients, referring physicians and
third-party payers,” according to Sue Elmore, BS, RDMS, program
coordinator for OB/GYN ultrasound practice at St. John’s.
