Quality / Safety Strategies
Why
should health plans monitor quality and safety?
The country’s best
health care facilities are deeply committed to quality improvement and
the communication of clinically meaningful information to the many
communities they serve. Gathering quality data helps hospitals target
specific areas for improvement in documentation and care for patients
with devastating diseases.
Patients should use reported indicators as consideration in assessing
the quality of care provided by hospitals and health care systems.
St. John’s participates in statewide and national quality initiatives
as part of a long-term commitment to giving the public information
that will help physicians, patients and families make decisions about
their medical care.
What We Offer
Quality demands that
physicians and co-workers provide safe, effective, efficient,
equitable, care.
Patient safety initiatives include such items as a pharmacy robot for
packaging of medications and the computerized Medication
Administration Record. Our Patient Safety Committee reviews National
Patient Safety Goals, as well as a variety of other initiatives such
as those listed with the Institute of Medicine Report to assess and
assure the best care is provided in the safest manner.
How We’re Different
