 Cancer Studies

Indication: Breast Cancer

Physician conducting the study: Wendall Goodwin, M.D.
Study ID: EFG103659
Study Status: No longer enrolling patients
The human body is made up of tiny building blocks called cells that control body function. Some cells stop working properly and become cancer cells. Unlike healthy cells, cancer cells grow and increase in number abnormally, and can stops organs in your body from working properly. This study is being performed to determine the safety and effectiveness of an investigational medicine at slowing or stopping breast cancer cells. In addition, the effectiveness of the combination of this investigational drug and Xeloda® will be assessed. Genes, which we inherit from our parents, may play a role in how we react to medicines. This research also seeks to determine if genetic differences are related to how patients respond to the drug that is being investigated.
